Thifaouin theater group announced Thawarth Imdran as the opening production of its 2007–2008 season. The first performance was scheduled for 19 January 2008 at Al Ghorfa Attijariya in Al Hoceima.

Written by Laziz Ibrahimi and directed by Mohamed Ben Said and Ahmed Ajouini, the play draws on an annual Rifian custom. Local stories, legends, and ritual practices provide its dramatic material.

The production approaches these traditions as part of a living cultural world, shaped by the Rif’s place within the Mediterranean. Its theatrical language brings familiar practices onto the stage, where audiences can encounter them from a different perspective.

The original English translation was credited to Abdelmounaim Ouyidir.
