The third Amazigh Festival of Tangier brought artists from across Tamazgha together in the summer of 2007. Musicians from the Rif, Souss, the Atlas, Kabylia, and the Tuareg Sahara shared a program that celebrated both cultural connections and regional differences.
The performers included Takfarinas, Ithri, Amarg Fusion, Tartit, and Moha Hamou Achiban. Their presence gave audiences a chance to hear contrasting musical approaches within the same festival, from individual voices to collective traditions of performance.
The photographs preserved with this report record some of those encounters. Together, they recall Tangier as a meeting place for Amazigh artists and listeners from different parts of North Africa.
